Heparin shortage unlikely

On the 13th I posted concerns that the Baxter heparin recall would result in heparin shortages. The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that heparin manufacturer APP Pharmaceuticals Inc. can supply the entire US market following FDA approval of additional production lines at its Grand Island, N.Y., plant and continuing production at its Melrose Park, Ill., plant.
