The airboat ride is something I can say I've done but I don't think I would do something similar again. It wasn't in the Everglades National Park, rather it was in adjacent private land. I went with my mom and Steve who I've known since 1970, we hadn't seen each other for years and were joined by his son who is sixteen. This was comical since when I think of us, I think of us when we were that age.
Maybe when there is a wearable kidney I'll be able to go on an multi-day canoe trip along the canoe trail that winds through the Everglades. I wasn't overly impressed with the airboat experience - more along the lines of an amusement ride than a wilderness excursion.
There are alligators aplenty. This one was happy lurking among the mangrove roots.
