Live on C-SPAN today at 4:47 PM EST the House of Representatives voted 383 to 41 to overturn President Bush's veto of the 2008 Medicare Bill that would stop cuts to physician Medicare reimbursement. 230 Democrats were joined by 153 Republicans in voting to overturn the President's veto. This was an even stronger result in favor of the bill than the June 24th vote when the totals were 355 Ayes, 59 Nays, 20 Present/Not Voting.
President Bush has vetoed 13 bills during his two terms in office, this would be the forth time his veto has been overridden. HR 6331 now goes to the Senate.
UPDATE: The US Senate just joined the House in voting to override the President's veto of H.R. 6331 by a vote of 70 to 26. The legislation is now the law of the land.
