Lately there have been many opportunities for individuals with CKD to participate in Webinars and Healthline phone conferences. Tomorrow there is a web conference for caregivers, particularly caregivers to someone dialyzing at home with the NxStage cycler:
There is still time for you or someone you know to register for our educational web conference, “The Partner’s Role”, which is being held tomorrow, Thursday 7/17, beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
This is the 3rd in a series of live web conferences, targeted to patients and family members wanting to learn more about daily home hemodialysis. The series is unique, as each topic will be covered by both a professional and an actual NxStage user.
For this program, Dori Schatell, Executive Director of Medical Education Institute and developer of the Home Dialysis Central website (www.homedialysis.org) will be our first speaker discussing results of research she has done interviewing partners and home patients on how they make it work. Then, we will have a panel of three care partners to NxStage patients share their experiences and discuss topics we feel are important to those considering home dialysis.
Of course caregivers can and did listen in on the previous educational sessions produced by the AAKP, Home Dialysis Central and previous DaVita/NxStage productions but is nice to see one geared for caregiver's particular point of view. To register you need to know that the session is:
