- The Life of a 20-Something With Lupus Her hemoglobin dropped to 10.2 which explains her fatigue, she was so tired she neglected to get her Aranesp, which might explain the drop, a nice comment from a stranger makes her day; woke up with a bad stomach ache and has lots to do, not sure if she can get going but is going to try. (You are a real trooper! I couldn't move with a Hgb that low.)
- Becky Perry lists five more things that make her happy.
- The Adventures of Stacy Without An E He hasn't been sleeping or eating much, and is losing blood on dialysis so he answers 50 random questions about himself he found on Facebook.

- Life on Dialysis Samiir enjoys the first hiking trek of the season but low blood sugar cuts it short.
- Bud's Ramblings has photos of his front yard and brand new Jazzy electric wheelchair. (Now we need a photo of you zipping down the street, Bud.)
- Precious Bodily Fluids has a link to his handouts from his acid-base lecture; recommends Burton Rose's masterpiece: Clinical Physiology of Acid-Base and Electrolyte Disorders to renal fellows who really want to know about electrolytes.
- Renal Fellow Network A study reports the identification of a new disease gene in a rare tubulopathy syndrome (EAST Syndrome) that sheds light on the physiologic mechanisms of salt transport in the kidney; writes about the organ trafficking bust that occurred this week; a brief list of some of the medications used to control hyperglycemia and their caveats unique to CKD.
- Uremic Frost An article reports that uncooked meats and poultry are commonly enhanced by food processors using phosphorous salts. The extra potassium and phosphorous is not only unrecognized, it is unaccounted for by reading the food label and could be quite dangerous (So, be careful, Folks!); has a link to the new NephSAP download; shares a report that North Korea's Kim Jong-ll is on dialysis.

- Diario de diálisis Crónicas (en Español) Journal dialysis - Chronicles (Google translated from Spanish) reports his dialysis network is growing from more exposure on the internet.

- Kidney Notes - Exploring the Intersection of Medicine and Technology links to a Washington Post story reporting that NIH is encouraging its scientists and science writers to edit and even initiate Wikipedia articles in their fields.
- Lemonade and Kidneys turned 42 and got nice gifts from her family (Happy Birthday, Ruth!), declares a moratorium on writing about her kidneys for the time being, is fund-raising for the PKD walk, and had a wild time in Baltimore with her friend, Maureen.
- Chronicals of the PD Warrior posts the infamous article critiquing chiropractic that got Simon Singh sued.
- The Ballad of Billy The Kidney John is off on vacation, back in early August. (I know he's having a great time as he sent me postcards!)
- My Chronic Kidney Disease shares his favorite juicing combinations.
- My New (Transplanted) Kidney Post-transplant now, Allan seems well but creatinine is sill too high; both Leon and Al nauseated; Al has MRI that shows kidney is working but creatinine hasn't changed; Leon now recuperating in the hotel, Allan gets emotional (probably caused by meds), has a biopsy which makes him sick to hs stomach. (We're sending good thoughts your way that things resolve well and you feel better soon.)

- Encompass Network Partners reports on the Polarcath system, a sophisticated form of treatment combining cold therapy and angioplasty to open blockages and avoid leg amputations.
- Renal BizBlog announces the first Arkansas Kidney Disease Summit will be held on Aug. 18 in Little Rock, Ark. The goal of the summit is to raise Arkansans’ awareness of renal home therapy and other advancements made in kidney disease.
- Bridge of Life has background information about how the new dialysis center in the Philippines got started.
