- Kamal Shah's Blog After going across town to get a lab report that wasn't done yet, Kamal wonders why hospitals don't treat patients with the kind of consideration a customer would receive; bemoans the communication problems that happen on big software projects.
- Kaply, Inc. Tracy has lost 4.5 kilos, so far, on her diet, and yells at the cable company; her fistula surgery went well, she strayed a bit from her diet but is committed to getting back to it.
- Toastiest Toastie opines about a host of topics, including the current level of his kidney function, the removal of the end-of-life counseling provisions courtesy of Sarah Palin's stupidity, dumb commercials, and Kirkland ice tea, among others; shares a link to a You Tube video with Patrick Duffy and a crab sidekick (Weird!).
- Hasten down the wire Commends The NY Times for finally confronting the blatant lies of the conservatives and partially tracing the source of the lies they have generated about healthcare reform (in particular, the "death panel" rumors), wishes they had done it earlier and that there were penalties for the public lying and political terrorism perpetrated by the conservatives and healthcare industry lobbyists.
- The Life of a 20-Something With Lupus Flo (who lives in Canada) makes arrangements for a family vacation to Florida and is appalled and frustrated at how much money she must pay the US unit for her dialysis sessions. (International travel is always expensive, and usually there is no insurance reimbursement for it at all.); finished her semester and did well but had a problem with her accounting professor.
- Becky Perry is officially now on the transplant waiting list, has more medical appointments scheduled; in preparation for their studies of other countries, the boys make "passports" with Grandma; Reviews of The Friends We Keep: A Woman's Quest for the Soul of Friendship by Sarah Zacharias Davis and 40-Minute Bible Study by Kay Arthur.
- Really, I'm as Old as I Feel? had a disappointing harvest in his garden this year and hopes next year will be better.
- I Am. Are you? has a lovely video, entitled Open-Hearted, of a heart transplant recipient reading a letter she wrote to the young girl who was her donor.
- Bud's Ramblings Bud shares some memories from when he was in mortuary school.
- Disability Prejudice And Civil Rights Watch Alison addresses the psychiatrist who didn't listen to her and put her in great danger as a result; shares a press release announcing that Wythe County, VA will comply with fair housing laws and allow small group homes for disabled children to be treated as single-family residences.
- Renal Fellow Network describes the four types of immune sensitivity reactions and gives renal examples of each; describes the "Rule of 6s" for dialysis access placement: 6 weeks after the AV fistula has been placed, the fistula should:(a) be able to support a blood flow of 600 ml/min,(b) be at a maximum of 6mm from the surface, (c) have a diameter greater than 6mm. If these goals are not met then further investigation is needed to find out why the fistula didn't mature.
- Uremic Frost Novartis AG's Sandoz will be launching a generic version of Prograf (Tacrolimus, FK506) in the United States; a study showed that aspirin taken at bedtime lowered blood pressure.
- Renal tsar's blog discusses how to improve the anemia management for both dialyzors and clinics; clarifies a new safety protocol that requires wristbands.
- Kidney Notes - Exploring the Intersection of Medicine and Technology says that a table of the benefits of common medical therapies (aspirin, statins, etc.) doesn't exist. Let him know if you think he is wrong.
- The Ballad of Billy The Kidney announces a re-launch of a reality series, The Gift, that boosted Australian organ donation registration when it aired last.
- My Chronic Kidney Disease His creatinine has stayed the same despite lifestyle changes, he hopes further tests may yield more information.
- The inner game of PKD has a post meant especially for guys with PKD.

- Biologically Safe Water Filters Hospital water systems are a significant source of infection so bacterial filtration is of the utmost importance. The Nephros Dual Stage Ultrafilter (DSU) filters to .005 microns; this far exceeds the CDC recommendations of .02 micron bacterial filtration.
