The Northwest Kidney Centers tweeted the announcement that Joyce Jackson, NKC CEO has been selected by Washington State Governor Gregoire as the 2009 recipient of the Warren Featherstone Reid Award for Excellence in Healthcare:
In 1994, the Legislature honored Warren Featherstone Reid and his policy interests by creating the Warren Featherstone Reid Award in RCW 43.70.045 and RCW 43.70.047 to recognize cost-effective and quality health care services. The award is to be given annually to health care providers and facilities in Washington State who exhibit exceptional quality and value in the delivery of health services. When it created the award, the Legislature recognized the importance of ensuring that all Washington residents have access to affordable, quality health care.
It is deserved recognition for Jackson who has lead NKC to be a model for the industry.

As the parents of Joyce Jackson, we were naturally pleased, proud and honored that our youngest daughter has received the 2009 Warren Featherstone Reid Award for Excellence in Healthcare. We congratulate Joyce and her outstanding staff and volunteers who have worked so diligently to warrant this recognition.

Although NKC isn't my dialysis center, I am happy to congratulate Joyce for this sterling accomplishment. Joyce is a personal hero to me for the way she came to my help when we were in DC. She's a truly compassionate person and that's only one ingredient that makes her such an excellent healthcare administrator. She is passionate in her support of of issues we dialyzors face on a daily basis.

Joyce Jackson is a progressive Administrator and an avid advocate for expanding access to home hemodialysis therapies for patients seeking more flexibility, improved quality of life and clinical outcomes. I have the pleasure of working with Joyce on the National Renal Administrators Association and have found Joyce to bring all her expertise and energy to each meeting or discussion - she has been a very positive addition. Congratulations Joyce on this well deserved award - and keep up your excellent advocacy!
