I started this blog just about 10 years ago, my first of 21 posts went up on the 26th. Anna was there from the start watching the site stats with me, wondering about each visitor; it took me three months to talk her out of the shadows, her first post went up in March 2008. I was working back then, now I am retired and look forward to engaging more in 2018 with industry news and trends, in advocacy, reimbursement, politics and the provision of dialysis.
One thing I would like to do is post 20 to 30 minute video discussions with people throughout the CKD community. The frequency will depend how it goes, I plan to post them without editing but we'll see. Always the trooper, Anna agreed to give it a try.
Here is the first DSEN videoblog, there are a few early sound glitches, the sound smooths out, the video is glitchy to the end but good enough first effort:
I'll need to look into other distribution options eg. podcast, audio download. Thoughts are welcome.
Hi Bill,
It is wonderful to see your perspectives once again expressed on DSEN and to celebrate its 10 years of existence. I remember when I first encountered your blog it gave me hope and information that helped me cope with my dialysis struggles. I didn't feel so alone and I was inspired by your travel adventures and commitment to advocacy. I was so moved by DSEN that I was motivated to contribute to it in 2009 and 2010 as the CKD blog reporter and occasional guest writer. I am really proud of those contributions and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of your blog.
I wish you many more years of joy and good health so that you can continue to inspire all us dialyzors to live the best lives we can and to fight for the right to do so.
With best wishes and respect always,
Miriam
